how to be alone.

i have never gone dancing alone, but i do all the other stuff regularly.

I have a really hard time being alone, and because of my unemployment that’s happened a lot over the last year. This is the most comforting thing I’ve ever seen on the subject. 

“If you’re happy in the head the solitude is a blessing.”

This is one of the loveliest things I’ve ever seen. I’ve never felt comfortable eating dinner alone or dancing alone. After watching this I can’t wait to do so.

I can’t tell you how many fun things I’ve done alone. Sure, sharing experiences with someone you love is awesome, but no sense in just sitting on the couch when there is joy and wonder just out there for the taking.

I adore being alone. As a kid I was never home, never findable; much to mom’s chagrin. Empty volleyball courts, loud but barren laundry rooms, deck chairs with their straps unraveled out in the fields behind the houses. Even now, there is nothing finer than slipping away from a crowd to find the quiet of my own thoughts. This is SO lovely. “…down your back like a brook of blessings” Golly.
